The late President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace, has issued a decision regarding the formation of the Board of Trustees of the National Human Rights Institution (NHRI) in December 2021.

The decision stipulated the formation of the NHRI’s Board of Trustees under the chairmanship of Maqsoud Kruse, and the membership of 11 members: Fatima Al Kaabi, Maryam Al Ahmadi, Fatma Al Bedwawi, Klaithem Al Matrooshi, Noor Al Suwaidi, Ameirah Al Seraidi, Dr. Ahmed Al Mansoori, Mohamed Al Hammadi, Dr. Zayed Al Shamsi, Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Noman, and Shahreyar Nawabi. And they represent civil society institutions, advisory and academic bodies in the country, in addition to those with technical and professional expertise in human rights in their personal capacity.
