National Human Rights Institution


A national human rights body established in 2021, as an independent institution concerned with the protection and promotion of human rights in the United Arab Emirates, and enjoys financial and administrative independence in the exercise of its functions, activities, and competencies, depending on many means, most notably the advancement of the reality of human rights for various groups of society, the protection and promotion of human rights and freedoms, monitoring, study and treatment of any abuses, and follow-up of the necessary measures, including their settlement or referral to the competent authorities to remove their effects... The Institution works, based on the Paris Principles relating to the competencies, responsibilities, and independence of national human rights institutions, and the Institution has actually begun to exercise its functions.
