Cairo - A delegation from the National Human Rights Institution (NHRI), headed by H.E. Maqsoud Kruse, participated in the regional dialogue forum "The Future of Human Rights Learning and Education in the Arab Region: Towards a New Social Contract” held in Cairo, Egypt, on 18-19 October 2023.

The NHRI presented a paper by H.E. Maqsoud Kruse, titled "The Prospects of Technological Innovation in Educational Development: A Human Rights Approach." The paper emphasised education as a fundamental human right and highlighted the importance of keeping pace with technological advancements in the educational process to achieve the envisioned future. During the forum, several sessions and working groups addressed important topics related to education, the role of educational institutions, and their contribution to enhancing human rights education within curricula, ensuring justice and equality for all.

The forum, organised by the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions, the Arab Institute for Human Rights, the League of Arab States, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, and the National Council for Human Rights in Egypt, aims to formulate recommendations through interactive sessions and working groups participating in the forum's activities. The forum serves as a platform for exchanging human rights expertise and cooperation among the participating organisations and institutions.
