The NHRI participated as an "observer" in the Abu Dhabi Dialogue

The National Human Rights Institution  participated as an observer in the seventh ministerial meeting of the Abu Dhabi Dialogue among the Asian Labor-Sending and Receiving Countries, with the attendance of high-ranking officials and relevant international organizations on February 10-11, 2024.

The "Abu Dhabi Dialogue" discussed prominent topics such as supporting the member states' ability to manage labor markets and enhancing workers' welfare through modern technological means, promoting the transfer of skills between labor-sending and receiving countries in line with the future of work, and integrating the concept of gender equality within the employment policies of the member states in the Abu Dhabi Dialogue.

Commenting on the participation, H.E. Maqsoud Kruse, Chairperson of the NHRI Board of Trustees, affirmed that receiving complaints, monitoring violations, and conducting field visits to various facilities, including workplaces and residences, are among the Commission's most significant tasks by law. He continued, "We look forward to enhancing the partnership with the government and private sectors, civil society, and relevant organizations with the aim of continuously improving the conditions of workers in the United Arab Emirates."
