  • The National Human Rights Institution receives a delegation from the UAE Gender Balance Council

The National Human Rights Institution (NHRI) received a delegation from the UAE Gender Balance Council (GBC) Headed by Shamsa Saleh the Secretary General of GBC. Maqsoud Kruse, Chairperson of NHRI, Fatima Al Kaabi Deputy Chairperson of NHRI and Saeed Al Ghefli the Secretery General of NHRI attended the meeting. The meeting comes in light of strengthening cooperation on matters related to human rights and women rights. 

Maqsoud Kruse introduced NHRI and discussed the six main committees, the vision in the coming period as well as ways of collaborations with the GBC.   

Commenting on the visit, Maqsoud Kruse, said: "We value the role played by the GBC In supporting women and reducing the gender gap in all sectors, as the NHRI is committed to support women rights whereby women take on an integral role in the society.” 

He added: “The NHRI embraces women as key partners as the Board of Trustees comprises of 6 women out of the 12 members”. 

The GBC delegation expressed their appreciation toward the Institution’s future visions and plans that ultimately will add to the progress of human rights status in the UAE.
